i feel like my bite is not as strong as it ussed to be.
Can bleaching your teeth weaken them?
actually it weeken the teeth as they are chemical (actually the bleaching material the dentist use is the same bleaching material used for cleaning bathrooms (sodium hypochlorite) except that it%26#039;s concentration is just 10% , it%26#039;s safe only if it%26#039;s used with precaution by the dentist only. it does not affect the bite but it can cause sensetivity of teeth specially with the long use of the home bleaching systems.
Reply:i would think so
Reply:do not over use them.
Reply:yes it can weaken your teeth, but your jaw controls your bite and i dont know if it can weaken your jaw
Reply:i think it does. Consult your doctor ASAP.
Reply:I think over time the bleach does erode the enamel which could cause weaker teeth and they%26#039;ll be more prone to cavities and stuff.
Reply:well i do know it can make them extremely sensitive
Reply:Yes, they can. My dentist told me that I can no longer do any bleaches or any kind of toothpaste that had a whitening agent in it. He said that it was weakening the calcium in my teeth and making them soft. Please be Advised of this, please be careful and do not use the bleaches to often. Ask your dentist, about all of this, if he is honest with you like my dentist is, he should tell you that it does do this.
Reply:I think it%26#039;s the gums that are affected my some bleaching peparations more so than the enamel.
However, the manifestations of a weakened bite would be the same if your teeth become loose to some degree.
I have used peroxide as a bleaching agent for the past 20 some odd years without issue.
Reply:Yes it can. Over the counter whitening solutions and such can weaken teeth not always severely, but they can. The safest way to whiten your teeth is to talk to your dentits. Ask him what he recomends and ask what he thinks of different things you can just get at the store. Good luck!!!
Reply:Yeh it can. Some abrasive toothpastes and whitening kits wear down the natural tooth enamel.

Is bleaching your teeth safe?
Yes, if you don%26#039;t get the bleach on your gums for an extended period of time. It%26#039;s peroxide and it will irritate delicate gum tissue. Godloveya.
Is bleaching your teeth safe?
Really sorry but it%26#039;s one of those questions a dentist can%26#039;t answer on here- it all depends on the patient. It%26#039;s safe for some people and not for others depending on the condition of their teeth and gums.

Bleaching of teeth,is it harm full???

Bleaching of teeth,is it harm full???
I would definitely think so yes lol thank you
Reply:yes bleaching is harmful especially if done often
Reply:yes - if done a lot. it ruins the gums
Reply:LOL i bet your mouth won%26#039;t taste very nice !
Yeah i think it can be harm full as bleach is a strong nasty substance!
Reply:yes any type of bleaching is harmful just brush your teeth drink less coffee tea red wine sorted
Reply:If you do it too often it causes sensitive teeth.
I did mine myself at home and stuck to the instructions and had no problems at all.
It was tempting to do it more often than instructed, obviously for quicker results but resisted, and it worked!
Reply:Bleach kills 99% of everything including the top layer of your gum.
Reply:It isn%26#039;t really bleach folks, so don%26#039;t anyone try it at home. Repeated applications can hurt your teeth. Why don%26#039;t you talk to your dentist about it?
Reply:I considered this earlier this year. I raised it with my dentist, and she said that it can cause sensitivity in teeth. She strongly recommended against home treatments too. I asked about whitening toothpaste, and she also recommended that any paste that has a %26#039;scratchy%26#039; texture on the teeth will wear away the enamel.
Basically, from my experience, I would recommend that you seek professional assistance, and don%26#039;t do it at home yourself, as you may end up with problems. At least professional bleaching, you have some protection, and they have guidelines to follow...
Hope this is helpful
Reply:follow your dentists instructions, it will be fine! Alternate top and lower sets of teeth.
Greater sensitivity is the only concern when you do the routine treatment.
You can see the results in a week, after that do it occasionally when you think you need to do it.
There will be no long-term effects when done properly

Is artificial bleaching of teeth bad for the teeth or your health in some way?
Whitening of the teeth can tend to cause some temporary sensitivity, but otherwise if you use a reputable product and follow the directions you should be fine. Using them repeatedly very often isn%26#039;t necessary and should be avoided. The whitening agent used in most products has been used in dentistry for a long time and has a long record of safety and reliability...Hope that helps!
Here is a post that I wrote for someone else that might be of interest....
I can say that most of my patient%26#039;s have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips (which cost about $20.00), some more than others. Our office uses the Supreme which are 4 times stronger than what you can get in the store (and cost $60.00), but the others will work as well but take more time and possibly more than one kit.The results are usually pretty quick, noticeable in the first few days, best in a week or longer. If you can, do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar, plaque, or orthodontic cement) will impede their ability to work. They will not whiten any white fillings you may have, but whiten uniformly. Also, don%26#039;t use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). You should not drink or eat anything dark for at least 1/2 hour after using the strips.
The strips/trays are your least costly whitening method as compared to custom made trays or in office whitening ($500.00+) All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel. If you get sensitive use the product every other day in conjunction with a sensitive tooth toothpaste. You might try to drink dark liquids through a straw and don%26#039;t smoke. Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective. Whatever method you use it will not whiten your teeth for life, as you age your teeth will get darker and may need to be whitened again.
Good luck!

Is artificial bleaching of teeth bad for the teeth or your health in some way?
according to what i have read, tooth bleaching if frequently done, can lead to thinning of the enamel
Reply:Commonsense dictates that when you %26#039;fool around%26#039; with your body, you are going to have to pay a price at somepoint down the road.
Liposuction is another example.
Crash Dieting - which does not work - is one more example........
I can go on and on....
Reply:I use straight peroxide. swish for as long as you can stand it, then rinse.
Reply:Most bleaching products now ( especially ones from the dentist) contain such a low dose of bleach they do not cause any harm to your body. I would recommend however a proper kit designed especially for your mouth from a dentist. The over the counter types are standard trays and can cause damage to the gums etc.
If the bleaching is done correctly you should not have to repeat it too often. Can cause some short term sensitivity

While bleaching my teeth at home, can I wear my trays to bed.?
The trays and bleach are from my dentist, and not from over the counter...
While bleaching my teeth at home, can I wear my trays to bed.?
hi friend!
it depends on whether they are night wear trays. It also depends on the amount of TIME you are supposed to wear them. If you are supposed to wear them in the day for an hour and you sleep with them you will have lots of sensitivity and could do a lot of damage to you gums....however if they are night wear trays and you are supposed to wear them for 8 hours at night..... just be sure not to over wear them. A fluoride rinse also whilst bleaching can reduce sensitivity. Avoid coffee and tea and red wine my dear.

How much does teeth whitening or bleaching done by dentist costs?
how much is it?

How much does teeth whitening or bleaching done by dentist costs?
It%26#039;s hard to talk about the cost without knowing what type
of dental coverage you have if any. Let us know.
Reply:It%26#039;s difficult to talk about costs, since i don%26#039;t know where you live.
A dentist won%26#039;t charge less than 100 dollars anywhere in the world. In countries like the US and Australia I think it goes up to at least 400 dollars.
Don%26#039;t use products sold at any place. Whitening products work through acids, therefore it should be supervised by a proffessional, this person will tell you how much is good to whiten them, or if you are ready to whiten them (a cavity will let the acid through directly to the pulp, also called dental nerve, and could hurt it really bad to the point of maybe killing it).
Other products, like some toothpastes work through a very thin dust that removes layers from your teeth (this is an abrasive dust), your teeth will get whiter because some layers have been removed... and this superficial layers are the most pigmented ones... but remember, layers are being removed and you don%26#039;t want that.
Some toothpastes work through acid... but again, as i mentioned above, this acid is dangerous.
The whitening used by a dentist works also through acid, but the dentist will check all of your teeth before and do the propper actions before applying the whitener; besides some other precautions are meant to be taken during and a few days after the whitening process, like avoiding pigmented food, coke, coffee or even tea, chocolates, lipsticks (or kissing a girl who%26#039;s wearing lipstick), since your teeth will easily get pigmented. After a few days your teeth will have ended their recovery process and you%26#039;ll be able to eat normally.
Good luck.

How well does bleaching work to whiten teeth?
My teeth are coffee stained yellowish. The dentisit said that for 220.00 I can get a mold made to fit my teeth and they would give me the bleach to do as many times as I wanted at home. the dental assistant showed me her pearly white teeth and I was impressed. will it work that well for everyone?

Im actually doing the same exact thing right now...it works...but its painful im not going to lie...and its a slow process if your really sensitive to the bleach....but it does work...if you do get it..make sure you dont put to much!...you will be in pain all day.

Something to think about, tho.....if you are going to have any work done on your teeth, like a crown, porcelain veneers or bridge made, bleach the teeth FIRST....they will match the new material to your other teeth, so you want them to be lightened first. Also, this is just something I heard....don%26#039;t know if it works well or not....try drinking your coffee and tea thru a straw....that way the liquid goes directly to the back of the throat and is swallowed, instead of over the teeth first. How well does bleaching work to whiten teeth?
I%26#039;m not too sure abt it. However, there are many ways to whiten your teeth.
Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!
For home remedies.
Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.
Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.
Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.
Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.
If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here%26#039;s something for you!
Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

And your teeth will only get as white as your genes incline, so think back to when you were a baby lol. After care is pretty important too, not only coffee and cigarettes are bad for staining your teeth, but so are wines and juices. Ive heard strawberrys help the process :)
Reply:As with everything, the results won%26#039;t always be the same. You can assume though that you will get a result. From what I%26#039;ve seen it does the job pretty well, although not as well as Zoom. If you can get that, go for it instead!

What is the difference in a teeth cleaning and a dentist bleaching your teeth?
My teeth are not as white as i want them to be
What is the difference in a teeth cleaning and a dentist bleaching your teeth?
Teeth cleaning removes the tartar from your teeth whereas bleaching your teeth removes the stains from the enamel and below.
A cleaning is like scraping dirt off of a white shirt. a bleaching gets the stains that are left.
Reply:cleaning gets the crud off, bleaching turns your teeth whiter by removing stains
Reply:Cleaning only removes the dirt and loose plaque.
Bleaching is a staining process that actually changes the colour of the teeth using chemicals.
It is more expensive than just cleaning teeth and the process is more cosmetic
Reply:I%26#039;m not a dentist so hopefully someone who is will weigh in with a better answer, but a cleaning is really to remove plague and tartar while a bleaching is a purely cosmetic procedure. It does nothing to help the health of your teeth and gums.
Reply:Exactly what you are asking. Cleaning, cleans your teeth, bleaching whitens them
Reply:A cleaning scrapes off the scale of plaque that collect on your teeth. Bleaching just whitens the tooth surface, but has not effect on the scales of plaque. You need to do both.
Reply:Similar to taking a bath and car wash...my wife is not as beautiful as neighbours ;)
Reply:In bleaching the gel is a acid which opens up microscopic inperfections, tine pores if you will, in the enamel. This lets out stains such as tanins, tarter, and any other crud inside the tooth. This is why we tell you don%26#039;t go out and drink Red wine after 1 hour of bleaching. It can make things worse. we give you special toothpastes designed to close the pore thereby %26quot;locking%26quot; in the whiteness.
A cleaning is a cleaning, polishing and debridement. If your teeth are getting whiter at your cleanings, you need serious oral hygiene instructions
Ask your dentist.
